Grand Original Dance Drama “Thousand-Hand Guanyin” 大型原创舞剧《千手观音》
舞剧《千手观音》是由中共山西省委宣传部、山西省文化和旅游厅指导，中共太原市委宣传部主办，太原广播电视台出品，太原舞蹈团、山西保利大剧院管理有限公司联合制作。该剧的创作灵感来源于导演张继钢的家乡——山西，尤其是五台山金阁寺和太原崇善寺的千手观音形象，为该剧的经典造型提供了丰富的创排灵感。该剧历时七年创作而成，以民间流传的观音故事为背景，通过艺术升华，讲述了一段极具寓言色彩的故事：很久以前，代国发生了一场瘟疫，国王也未能幸免。三公主乐善好施，请命寻莲，以救父王。在红蜻蜓的引导下，她历经千辛万苦终于找到神奇的“莲花”。面对苦海中受难的芸芸众生，三公主毅然将凝聚着生命精魄的圣莲化作甘霖普降人间，以己身为舟楫渡尽世间劫波。
全剧通过三公主为救父王请命寻莲的传奇经历，展现了人性中的善良与爱心，传达了“千手观音非凡，不是你，不是我，不是他；千手观音平凡，就是你，就是我，就是他。只要心中有光，只要心中有爱，就要伸出双手，播撒温暖！”的普世大爱。
Introduction to the Dance Drama "Thousand-Hand Kwan-Yin"
The dance drama “Thousand-Hand Kwan-Yin” was produced with the support of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Shanxi Province, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Taiyuan Municipal Committee, and presented by Taiyuan Broadcasting Station. It’s a joint production by the Taiyuan Dance Troupe and Shanxi Poly Grand Theater Management.
The idea for this drama came from the director Zhang Jigang’s hometown, Shanxi. The famous Thousand-Hand Kwan-Yin statues at Jinge Temple on Mount Wutai and Chongshan Temple in Taiyuan were a big inspiration for the drama's look and atmosphere.It took seven years to create this drama. It was inspired from folk stories about Kwan-Yin and was transformed into a fable.
Long ago, a plague swept through Dai State, and the king also fell sick. The Third Princess was well-known for her kindness and willingness to help others. She stepped forward and offered to find the holy lotus in order to save her father.She was guided by a red dragonfly and went through all sorts of difficulties. Finally, she found the amazing lotus. When she saw the countless people suffering in the sea of hardships, the Third Princess made a brave decision. She turned the holy lotus, which held the vital energy of life, into a gentle rain, which spread across the land. She sacrificed herself to help people get through all the disasters in life.
The drama tells the tale of the Third Princess, who goes on a journey to find a special lotus flower to save her sick father. Through her adventure, it shows the good and caring side of people. The drama also sends a message of love that everyone can understand, “The Thousand-Hand Kwan-Yin might seem special—not like you, me, or him. But really, it’s just like all of us. If you have love and kindness in your heart, just reach out and help others!”
