剧情简介

宋应星历经六次科考落榜，却痴迷于中国劳动人民的智慧和创造，乃粒、乃服、冶铸、锤锻、膏液、陶埏、佳兵、舟车等十八个篇章，对明朝中叶以前的科学技术工艺进行完整的考察梳理，记录中国农业、手工业、制造业几千年来的实践技巧，著就“于功名进取毫不相关”的科学技术百科全书——《天工开物》。宋应星本想以自己的笔墨拯救危亡的国家，却无法阻拦山河破碎，长兄、挚友以身殉国，宋应星静心执着于做一件更有意义的大事，著书《天工开物》，传播中国科学技术，影响中国，影响世界。

明代科学家宋应星所著《天工开物》是一本记录中国古代科学技术的百科全书，全书共十八卷，插图123幅，约10万字，记载了130多项生产技术和工具，30多个行业科学数据，许多生产技术沿用至今。是中国真正意义上系统、全面向世界分享中国科学技术的著作，代表当时世界科学文明的最高水平，对亚洲、欧洲各国影响极深。《天工开物》历经朝代更迭，在清代几乎被禁，鲜为人知，却机缘巧合，飘洋过海流传世界，被翻译成十多种语言，深深影响、促进世界科学的发展，达尔文、李约瑟为之惊叹，被誉为“十七世纪中国最伟大的农业手工业百科全书”，宋应星也被赞誉是“中国的狄德罗”。
