《平潭映象》是艺术家杨丽萍针对两岸文化背景所导演的唯一一部海洋题材超民俗作品，取材于“海”，深耕于“岚”，怒放于“魂”，以浪漫主义古典神话的叙事方式，对渊远流长的中国传统民俗文化作出当代的再诠释与再表达，溯源平潭千年历史，深度融合南岛语族文化、海丝文化、台海文化，建构起海峡两岸共同的海洋文化景象与脉络，以意象化的新东方美学作为审美理念，融合非遗传承，由两岸艺术家共创同演，造奇设幻，讲述了一个具有浓厚东方色彩的古典神话史诗，描绘了一幅用舞蹈作笔、以文化为墨的艺术画卷，呈现了一部两岸人文交流与融合的舞台巨作。作为新东方美学的代表之作，《平潭映象》不仅达成了传统美学现代表达的艺术追求，同时也弘扬了民族文化形象，深化两岸艺术文化交流，推动两岸同胞共同发展，促进两岸人民心灵契合。

剧情梗概：

故事背景源于盘古开天辟地创世之后，九州大地诞生，天降祥瑞，万灵初生。有一座海外仙岛——平潭岛，因状若神兽麒麟，被称为“麒麟岛”。岛上居民安居乐业，以渔业为生，得“地方神官”城隍守望香火，受“海神娘娘”妈祖庇佑平安。白龙王子“君山王”与海的女儿“平潭蓝”在岛上不期而遇，相识相恋，携手与岛上居民共度风雨、共抗台风。每每风调雨顺之际，一齐放天灯，以祈安康。然而平静祥和、宛若仙境的麒麟岛，被怀揣野心与贪婪的外族军所觊觎，蓄谋已久之后，他们对麒麟岛发动侵略，危情一触即发。自此，勇敢善良的君山王与平潭蓝、正义凛然的藤牌守军、仁慈兼爱的一众神祇、穷凶极恶的外族军在麒麟岛上共同谱写了一部波澜壮阔的关于守护和正义的古典神话史诗。
