“如果摇滚是在路上，那么民谣就是在路旁。” 乐迷朋友们对钟立风的这句音乐阐述非常赞同，也感觉钟立风颇有中世纪那种怀抱一把鲁特琴边走边唱的游吟诗人的风采。

从去年开始钟立风便加入了法国著名戏剧导演让·贝洛里尼和北京央华戏剧联手打造的音乐戏剧《小王子》，他在其中饰演的狐狸，也有一种在路旁的感性又清醒的诗人般的存在，他和小王子说：本质的东西眼睛是看不见的，需要用心去感受；以及人和人最重要的是建立感情联系——“彼此驯养”。钟立风的处女专辑《在路旁》，是2006年由太合麦田出版发行的，到今年正好二十周年，所以钟立风决定在《小王子》戏剧演出结束之际，开始他的音乐演出——在路旁，欢乐的号角已吹响；在路旁，有人没完没了的歌唱。
